Senior researcher opportunity at leading medical simulation center in Copenhagen

A two-year position as consultant at Copenhagen Academy for Medical Education and Simulation at Rigshospitalet (CAMES-RH) is open for appointment from 1.9.2026 to 31.8.2028.

CAMES is internationally recognised as one of the world's leading centres for simulation-based education and research, with state-of-the-art facilities, a sustained record of high impact peer-reviewed publications, and an extensive portfolio of evidence-based training programmes for health professionals across disciplines and career stages. CAMES collaborates closely with hospitals and primary-care services in the Capital Region of Denmark, and with universities, professional bodies and industry partners both in Denmark and internationally. As a Senior Researcher, you will work at CAMES Rigshospitalet and across partner sites in the future Region East.

Your job responsibilities

As a Senior Researcher, you will have responsibility for conducting a national trial aiming at improving the diagnostic workup of patients suspected of acute myocardial infarction.

Your main tasks consist of:

  • Publishing high impact publications based on your work in collaboration with local, national and international partners
  • Contributing to the funding of your own research with the help of competitive external research funding
  • Disseminating your research to the outside world, including through senior editorial responsibilities, invited keynotes and contributions to international consensus and standards work
  • Contributing to the development of the research and education environment at CAMES and across the Region East
Qualifications

The successful applicant should be

  • Board-certified clinical medical specialist or similar
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
  • Experienced in developing and managing high-quality research projects
Conditions

Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand.

Salary and Terms of Employment Employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement stated below. Your starting salary will depend on your seniority, qualifications, experience, and the geographical location of your workplace.

Collective agreement: 33.04.1 - Overlæger

Position category: Overlæge

In addition to your base salary, you may be entitled to:

  • local salary supplements in accordance with applicable local agreements;
  • special allowances, for example for evening, night and weekend work;
  • the possibility of negotiating individual salary supplements, depending on the position as well as your qualifications and experience.
